Cancellation, rescheduling & refunds

You may request cancellation of an eligible upcoming booking. Payments are non-refundable for a change of mind or customer-initiated cancellation, except where required by law or expressly agreed by House of Purohit. Cancellation does not automatically create a refund. Statutory remedies for deficient, misdescribed or unperformed services remain available.

This is the standard customer-cancellation rate. It does not decide statutory claims, failed-service cases or supplier cancellations, which require a separate review. A refund above this may still happen where required by law, or where House of Purohit expressly agrees to make an exception.

Rescheduling

At least 3 full days’ noticeRequest a new date, time, location or service at least 3 full days before your ceremony and we’ll move it free, subject to availability and confirmation. For a ceremony on a Saturday, a request made by Wednesday is eligible; a request made Thursday or Friday normally isn’t.
Requests inside 3 daysA late change isn’t guaranteed. We may still be able to help at our reasonable discretion — support can always be asked — but a late request doesn’t by itself create a right to cancel or a refund.
If the new date costs moreA rescheduled slot is priced like any other booking. If the new date is priced higher, the difference is added to your balance due after the ceremony — the same way the rest of a booking is settled, not a second payment collected up front. If it’s priced lower, that isn’t an automatic cash refund unless we say otherwise at the time.
More than onceThe 3-day window is reasonable flexibility, not an unlimited right to keep moving the same booking. Repeated requests may be declined where they’re operationally unreasonable.

When it’s not you — or not really a cancellation

If we cancel or cannot arrange the agreed ceremony, payments received for the unprovided service are refundable in full. Contact support if this has not been processed.

If a Purohit withdraws, we will try to arrange a suitable replacement at no extra charge. If we cannot provide the agreed service, or a specifically guaranteed professional cannot attend, the applicable full-refund exception applies. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

If you’re not reachable, can’t provide access, or aren’t available at the confirmed time for reasons on your side, after a reasonable attempt to reach you the booking is treated as a no-show and is generally non-refundable, subject to applicable law.

If part of your booking details turns out to be wrong — the address, the date, a phone number — contact us as soon as you notice. We’ll try to correct it, subject to availability; a correction requested very close to the ceremony may run into the same 3-day window as any other change, and discovering an error too late doesn’t by itself create a right to a refund.

Fresh items bought on the morning of a ceremony are billed at what they cost. If a ceremony is cancelled before they are bought, there is nothing to charge.
